There is a golf tournament this weekend and it’s going to feature some top tier talent. You’ll be able to find Rounds 1 & 2 on The Golf Channel, while Rounds 3 & 4 will be on CBS. Here are the Top 3 reasons to watch this weekend:

1. Quail Hollow GC – Many people know that the Carolinas have some stunning golf courses, few being more awesome than Quail Hollow. The course opened in 1961 and 10 years ago the PGA Tour returned to Quail Hollow. With a giant lake in its midst the course has enough to bite to challenge even the best players out there. The main attraction on the course is the long par-3 17th for its island-style green and nearly 200-yard forced carry – watch a lot of bogeys happen here!

2. Tournament history – Past winners include names such as Vijay Singh (2005), Jim Furyk (2006), Tiger Woods (2007), Rory McIlroy (2010) and Rickie Fowler (2012). Last year’s champion Derek Ernst won the tournament in only his ninth career PGA start. Freaky things can happen on this course, which is why you should watch!

3. Good lead-in to Star Wars Day – As many nerds know, May the 4th is widely known as “Star Wars Day’ due to its pronunciation sounding like “May the force [be with you]” which is obviously an awesome quote from the movies. If you plan to watch the Original Trilogy on Sunday night, which you should, then you can spend the rest of the weekend watching golf and still honor those amazing movies.

There you go! Now you have no excuse to not watch the tournament. Also keep an eye out for any loose ‘gators looking to snack on a golf ball – or somebody’s leg.

Enjoy the golf this weekend and May the 4th be with you!
